This body of sculptural and installation work uses the pillow as a motif to explore my autobiographical experience of being an only child that has travelled equally between separated parents for the last decade. I believe that the pillow holds connotations of security, support, and intimacy as it is traditionally used to cushion the head during its most vulnerable state, sleep. Plaster plays a pivotal role in solidifying ephemeral moments in time as keepsakes while attempting to control and prevent inevitable change.
